My MX-500 handles the iMon on my LC16M fine. The repeat rate "problem"
can be solved using the proper LIRC commands, it comes from the fact
that the original remote sends a very fast repeat rate and seems to
have its own built in delay. I just programmed the buttons using the
repeated signal and then fine tuned LIRC to handle the fast repeat.
You can also just learn the single press if you don't need the
repeating signal.

I've been able to learn all the buttons so far.

or replace them with quieter fans. Mine is only audible when the room
is completely silent, my refrigerator noise is more noticeable (its in
the room attached kitchen and is only a few years old), and its the
hard drives in it that make the noticeable noise.
