bug with the linux firewire drivers and some limitations in Myth caused
stream glitches that mythfrontend choked on. 0.19 should ignore these errors
now iirc. I believe the kernel bug is being worked on, and I think some
recent commits to SVN has fixed the myth side of things. Jim Westall would
know better.

Well that would just be great news!

technically HDTV's should not have overscan, but they still do, ~5%. That
said its a problem with the TV and your picture from Myth for TV should look
the same as if it came from a cable box/internal tuner. Myth 0.19 has
overscan provisions though that you can use to "shrink" the output to fit
your TV. Ideally you should get your TV tuned so you are seeing the full
1280x720 instead of losing 5-20% per edge.

I guess my biggest issue here is not once I launch myth, because I did find
ways to adjust the size / position of the GUI, but rather that I couldn't
really effectivly use the computer outside of myth, since all the edges (and
hence menus) were constantly obscured

sadly, noone is really working on MythMusic AFAIK. I'm hoping to convince my
apt-mate to take up this task.

They'd have a new friend if they did ;-)
