Hi all,

I would like some help with migrating Mythtv 0.18 from Mandrake to Gentoo. I
have tried gentoo previously and have failed miserably. I would like to know
why.
The hadware I have is

AMD 2800+
80gig hard drive
512 Meg RAM
Fusion Plus HDTV
Audigy2 Sound card
Nvidia GT6600

I can get the dvb card working using kernel 2.6.3 and linuxtv modules.

when I run dmesg my dvb card is found

bttv: driver version 0.9.12 loaded
bttv: using 8 buffers with 2080k (520 pages) each for capture

when I less /var/log/messages I can find twinhan fusionplus dvb-t card

I am not sure if it's bloatness in mandrake but my HDTV play back is a
little jumpy and
I get squeaks and pixels jumping across the screen.

My plan is to install Gentoo 2005.1. Can anyone help me in building gentoo
so that it works
with my HDTV card? I don't know the difference between Twinhan VisionPlus
DVB-T and
Divco VisionPlus DVB-T cards are they one in the same?
last time I built the gentoo box and configured the DVB card I didn't get a
/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0
directory structure but instead I got
/dev/dvb.adapter0.frontend0

I don't understand why, and mythtv, mplayer, xine could not find the card or
the stream.
I would ultimately like to smooth my dvb, and dvd playback.

Thanks

Kevin
