[mythtv-users] Can not get my HD-3000 to work

I think we need more information.. I assume you want to tune ATSC OTA
HDTV (hows that for acronym soup!) and not analog/NTSC.

I assume you've been to a resource like http://www.antennaweb.org
and found out whether or not there are HDTV stations broadcasting in
your area, and have a sufficient antenna attached to the HD3000 and
have it oriented correctly...

When I was playing with my HD-3000 card with the latest Knoppmyth It
loaded the DVB drivers *automagically* for me =P I didn't have much
luck with MythTV proper (for multitude of reasons, and when I get back
on the horse I'll be in better shape to tackle that) BUT I was able to
succesfully test both OTA HDTV and QAM 256 via cable by following the
command line tests in these posts on the HD3000 forum:

http://www.xmission.com/~pchdtv/forum/viewtopic.php?t=688

If I opened up multiple shells/terminals and set it up like they
described I could tune stations and cat the results to a .ts or mpeg
file which I could view via xine or mplayer

There is a little bit of a steep learning curve at first, but
eventually I got the hang of it and maybe learned a thing or two...
(or not...) and at least proved my card worked and got to poke around
to see what QAM channels my cable co had in the clear...
