...and don't forget: basic auth usernames and passwords are 
case-sensitive. If you really used the username MYUSER, then you'd 
have to type it in all caps at the login prompt, too.

Also, make sure /usr/local/sbin/httpd-passwords is readable by the 
user Apache runs as.
