Note that XV support stabilized shortly after that thread, and I now highly
recommend installing ivtv 0.3.8 and xdriver 0.10.6 and just using XV. It
uses up a bit more CPU, but you gain the added benefits of AC3 sound,
xmame, etc...  and it still worked fine on my 733mhz P3.
