Just in case you didn't know (so you don't waste time on somthing we 
can't use)...

If you're thinking of doing this for yourself, go ahead.  If you were 
thinking of doing it to help the community, however, mythlink.{sh,pl} 
are gone in SVN (replaced with mythrename.pl--which has all the 
capabilities of previous mythlinks and more) and SVN allows deletion of 
file metadata even when the file doesn't exist.  Therefore, that type of 
functionality is no longer required.
