[mythtv-users] Video Hardware issues

Hello, I have FC4 2.6.14, Nvidia GEForce GTS2 AGP card (using nv driver in
xorg.conf) and Hauppauge PVR-500 card. 

 

My computer seems to detect the Hauppauge card correctly, as I see the ivtv
lines in dmesg.  However, my basic video test fails and crashes the machine.


When I do the following: "/bin/cat /dev/video0 > test.mpg", the machine
hangs and I have to reboot.  

 

When I type the following command 

"Ivtvctl -input-detect -dev=/dev/video0" or with /dev/video1

The output I get for both the tuners on the card reads

"ioctl: VIDEO_STATUS = Bad"

This looks wrong to me to start with too.  

 

Any suggestions on debugging this and getting this test to pass will be
helpful.
