Hi all!

Quick question. I've been using a GeForce5 FX5200, Svideo out, and am
fairly happy with the picture quality. But the quality is nowhere near
component out on my dvd player. (BTW, I'm still in standard def land --
Sony 27" Wega.)

>From reading the nvidia driver docs, it appears I cannot use the VGA out
for NTSC SD TV modes. The doc repeatedly states that the 15-pin VGA
port will always assume connection to a CRT display (monitor). I was
thinking I could use a VGA-to-component adapter cable -- so good thing I
read the doc first.

Then I remembered my motherboard (Asus A7V400-MX) has a built-in
Unichrome chipset, but only with a 15-pin VGA out. Here's the lspci output:

00:01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8378 [S3

So, does anyone know if the Unichrome driver:
1) yet supports this VT8378 version chipset?
2) supports component Y-Pr-Pb TV output through the VGA port?
3) supports over-/under-scanning?

Here's my whole MythTV setup:
Gentoo 2.6
Asus A7V400-MX
Athlon XP 2600
1GB DDR333
PVR250, Svideo in from DishTV STB
GeForce4 FX5200 128MB, Svideo out to Denon
SBLive, SPDIF out to Denon
Denon AVR-1705, all video upconverted to Component out to TV
Klipsh KG2.5 fronts, KV2 center, SS3 rears
Outlaw Audio LFM-1 (planned)
Sony 27" Wega

Thanks,
Josh
