[mythtv-users] Can't start lircd

Thanks for the quick response. I started having a bunch of other problems
too so I decided to just start over from scratch and reinstall Fedora C3
x86_64. It's helping me learn a lot about Linux anyway so I don't really
mind having to do this over and over if that is what it takes.
To answer your question though (in case I run into it again) /usr/bin/irw
did exist and I had two lirc devices in /dev /dev/lirc and /dev/lirc0
The case I bought for this project has an ir receiver on the front that
plugs into usb and I also have the ir receiver on my PVR-350 (I guess that
is why I had two lirc devices in /dev. Which brings a completely different
topic to mind, if anyone knows of good instructions for setting up lirc to
use a usb port please point me to it.
Thanks again,
Jamie

More information would be good, like what distro you're running, what
versions of ir-related packages you have installed, etc.
I'm replying 'cause I recently had to back out of the latest atrpms lirc
upgrade for fc1 (the kernel module wouldn't create /dev entries, I think).
If you've recently done such an upgrade then perhaps that's your
problem too.

And does /usr/bin/irw exist? Or is it complaining 'cause /dev/lirc* doesn't
exist?
