-File system is ext3.

-Yes, it's 80 wire cable

-Not sure if they're rtying to run at ATA-133 or not.

-I assume slowing down the IDE bus is in the BIOS somewhere, have not
tried that.

-I believe the Power supply is at least 300W.
K7SOM+ with AMD Athlon XP 1400+ and heatsink+fan
	3 HD
	floppy
	cdrom
	extra fan
	PVR250/350
	NIC

-In the BIOS I get:
	CPU fan speed is 4963
	SYSTEM temperature is 107 F
	CPU temperature is 127 F
	No hard drive temps shown

As a side note, I do have another machine, exact same mobo, case, and
power supply, also has 3 HD, floppy, and cdrom, and it hasn't had any
problems.

-Are the disks getting to hot. Not sure. It's possible.

Here's the thing that gets me though. The couple times this has happened
I can reboot the machine 10 times. It seems to stop in the bootup
process at different times. Like it will stop at the message where it's
examining the LVM. (before it gets to checking root filesystem). Another
couple times it will stop at Checking root filesystem. It will sit at
these screens indefinitely.

That being said, as soon as I boot off the Maxtor utility disk, do the
quick test, both drives pass, reboot, now it boots all the way up,
prompting me if I want to do a disk check, which the last time I did
not.

Thanks,
James
