I thought the opposite was true. I read from people's posts that they dropped
$800-1000 on building a system. I can get pre-built PCs (from Dell for example)
for $300. Only, I cannot find anything that is aesthetically living room
oriented. However, I know there is stuff out there that is $600 - I just don't
know who the manufacturer is (I got quotes for a system with a prorieatary PVR
software already on it).

I understand (from your first post) you haven't built a computer in
ten years. Well things are different now and alot easier, and any one
of the cases people on this thread have mentioned are perfect
foundations for an awesome, high WAF system. I would at least consider
building your own system before dropping the cash on a prebuilt model.
