*bump*

I've still got nowhere with this; the output from dmesg and lspci are at
the end of this message in the hopes that someone can spot any obvious
problems.

I wondered about the tuner value. In the dmesg output, ivtv identifies
the tuner as type 18, but it's being set to 2 by the module option in
/etc/mythtv/modules/ivtv. I tried setting it explicitly to 18, and also
commenting it out entirely (in which case it automatically gets set to
18), but this just resulted in me having no picture at all, just snow.

Before the KnoppMyth forums were hacked I'd had a look through various
PVR 250 threads, and setting the tuner type to 39 seemed to be a common
suggestion. Trying this gave me exactly the same result as setting the
tuner type to 2 (i.e. four channels of good reception but B&W, one
expectedly bad channel but in colour).

I also wondered about the lines in which ivtv seems to switch to PAL,
then to NTSC, then to PAL again. Is this normal? Could this be anything
to do with my problem?

Any help or suggestions on this would really be appreciated.
