Do you mean something like

That is the image I get when I modprobe ivtv-fb on a cold boot.

This is I believe static/crap in the memory of the framebuffer[1], it
will go as soon as X starts (or you use the framebuffer)

If you use the ivtvfbctl command you can change the global/local alpha
settings so that the image doesn't show.

[1] When you reboot the image will be of the last thing shown on the
screen until shutdown.
