Depends on the cable company, but if it's analog cable then you can probably
change the channels directly on the tuner (coax). With Dish, you need to 
assemble
or purchase an IR Blaster and rig it up in front of your Dish receiver. 
Also, some
Dish receivers come with an RF remote for the second on-board tuner. You 
can't
interface with that second tuner in these cases.
