That sounds like the motherboard I have. I *didn't* disable the RAID
in the BIOS, and it works fine using software RAID, but it's probably
better to disable the onboard RAID. Do so before starting; once
you've put something on one of the harddrives with the onboard RAID
on, you can't just disable the onboard RAID.

And that is probably similar to the case I have, the Antec SLK3700BQE.
I have three Samsung Spinpoint 160Gb drives. I put a Panaflo fan in
the front, and run both fans at 7V. I used a Mobile AMD 2500+. The
machine is close to silent and is very cool, even when being stress
tested. The loudest component is the power supply fan, which I
couldn't easy replace.
