This is not anything to do with uncompressed video but I thought I would
tell you how I perform these tasks with my pvr-250 created .nuv files.

To start out I use the script mythlink.sh from the contribs folder to make a
dir full of nicely named links. Then I open the file with avidemux2. Using
the editing tools built into it I mark out the commercials and/or the stuff
at the ends. When done I write out a raw video stream and a audio stream to
files. I can give you the filter and codec settings if you want them. Then
use mplex to put the video back together correctly formatted for a DVD.
Since you disassemble and then reassemble the video you dont have any
problems with sync around the commercial breaks. This also allows me to
convert the mp2 audio to AC3 so that the dvd is compatible with more
players.

Because I am not doing any transcoding the entire process including burning
the disc takes about 90 minutes for a 2 hour movie.
