[mythtv-users] Myth Frontend Sound - Works & It doesn't

I have 2 computers setup where one computer does the recording and the 
other is trying to play it. Myth gives the error Unable to create 
AudioOutput. Where should I look as for resolving this problem.

If I play live TV or Recorded videos, I get the error.  If I play back a 
DVD, then the sound works.

I compiled Alsa 1.0.6.
I am running KDE 3.3.1
I disabled artsd
If I play the *.nuv via mplayer, the sound works.
aplay pop.wav plays the sound
Myth 0.16
The kernel is 2.6.7
The original system was a RedHat FC-1 but I have updated some of the 
packages and/or recompiled other stuff from source.
fuser -v /dev/dsp returns nothing
