I have completed an initial configuration of Myth using a bare bones
machine (just a video card, NIC card, and a sound card --- no capture
capability) so I need to spend some money an buy a PVR-250.

remote control.  But how do I best control my Dish Network receiver?

For my testing, I have a Dish Network PVR-501 receiver but will
ultimately be using a receiver only model once I roll "myth" into
"production" -- What is the best method of controlling these
receivers?  Is there a way to do this serially, or will I use a IR
blaster?

What is the consensus of good blasters?

A second part of this, is I would like to use X10 to turn on and off
lights when I am playing video/dvd's.  I was hoping there would be
pre/post scripts for dvd playing...then this would be easy.  Any
ideas?
