That only works for the native controls which are pretty much only
used in the setup portions of the app, so again a mouse is useless. 
And once the new UI code is in there will not be any native controls
left...

Because a whole bunch of code would have to be written to support it
and no developer has had a need for it.  The software is deisgned to
work with a remote control with occasional keyboard input.
