Ah, the infamous NVidia NForce2 IO-APIC problem.  It's fixed in 2.4.27 
and should be fixed in a recent 2.6 release.  I'm running my mythbackend 
on such a system and it's been rock solid.  Before the patch from Nvidia 
there would be random lock ups caused by high IO activity, such as disk IO.
