Apparently, mistakes are not permitted. :P

I had a similar problem when upgrading from 0.14 to 0.15. The old
database was whacked somehow when attempting to use it with 0.15.
Through dumping the database into a text file (mysqldump mythconverg >
mythconverg.old), blowing away the mythconverg database (echo "drop
database mythconverg;" | mysql). I then created a new database (cat
mc.sql | mysql -u root), created the correct entries by running
mythsetup, dumped that database into another text file, patched the two
together by replacing the offending entries with correct ones. (vi).
Finally, blew the database out again, created a blank one again (mc.sql)
and filled it with the correct info (cat mythconverg.edit | mysql -u root)

A lot of gyrations, but it is certainly nice to be using a database that
will easily import / export via ascii text!
