I'd use Xine for this.  Mplayer doesn't support DVD menus (neither 
direct from DVD nor otherwise).  Ogle might; I'm not sure.  I know Xine 
supports DVD menus.  It also supports playing an ISO image or a 
directory as a DVD, IIRC.
