[mythtv-users] Problem playing MJPEG video in Mythvideo on Xbox

Hi,

My digital camera makes movies. They are in an AVI container and the
video is Motion JPEG compressed (640x480, 30fps) while the audio is
uncompressed WAV (20500 Hz, 16 bit mono). When I try to play them
through MythVideo on my Xbox frontend, mplayer chokes and says my CPU
(Celeron 733) isn't fast enough. I've tried all the tips the mplayer
error message gives, and the only one that works is using the
-framedrop flag which makes the video all jumpy.

I realize this isn't strictly a Myth problem, but the only reason I'd
like to get these playing with mplayer is so I can watch them using
Myth. Does anyone know if I have any other options to get them to play
smoothly, or am I just out of luck as long as I'm using the Xbox? I'd
like to keep these movies at high quality if possible.

Thanks!

Jon
