Ok guys and girls, as per the message below the ozTiVo camp and the
MythTV camp should join forces to solve the guidedata problem in Australia.

Do we have any takers from the MythTV side who are willing to join??

If so, pop over to

http://minnie.tuhs.org/mailman/listinfo/oztivo-guide

and sign up and lets get this thing moving!!

Andrew

All, we have had some interest in guide data from other non-oztivo groups.
I think it's time to re-awaken the idea of a community-based guide website,
and we should build on from Martijn van Oosterhout's work.

I now propose that this mailing list be non-tivo-specific, and we should
encourage input from other PVR groups.

As a pointer, here is Martijn's prototype for a community-based guide
website:

http://kleptog.org/cgi-bin/oztivo.pl

And here is the source for the website:

http://svana.org/kleptog/tivo/

The basic idea: humans upload guide data to the website. Groups that
need PVR data download it from this website, which should be able to
provide the data in whatever format is required.

We need good Perl developers to convert this from a prototype to a
real website. Alternatively, it could be rewritten in another language.
Input please.

Thanks,
	Warren
