Ok, linux-dvb then... what's more important, truth or beauty?

Have you tried the 771 with 2.6.10? Can't say that it will work, but I 
found it much easier to work with 2.6.10, as it already has a 
very-recent version of the V4L code, so all you need to add is 
dvb-kernel cvs.
