You may have wget 1.9.1 installed, but are you using it?

Do a 'which wget'

followed by a 'wget --version'

You might have the rpm still installed, which gives you /usr/bin/wget
1.8, as well as 1.9.1 from source, which gives you /usr/local/bin/wget. 
Check your path settings.  If this is the case, remove the wget rpm and
you'll be set...
