> How about a wiki off the official mythtv site then?

mythtv.info isn't official. And though I personally dislike wikis,
after using wikipedia for awhile (have to see what our hardware is going
to, since they keep buying kicka$$ servers), I have to admit that it's a
really good way to present information of this sort.

That, and the couple of times I've had to reinstall myth, which required
me to search the documentation, I've found that it's occasionally old
and at best difficult to navigate.

So my personal vote (not that I get a real one) is that though wikis are
evil, an easy-to-grow set of unofficial docs would be a Good Thing
(linked from the top of the official mythtv docs so users stop asking
whether or not there's a wiki).

As for unofficial forums, I personally couldn't care less. I won't read
them (nor will most of the core developers), so they'd be a bad place to
get official help. But they'd be a GREAT place for people to share
mythtv stories, pictures of their personal setups, etc. But I don't
mind the mailing list. Mythweb stuff gets flagged into its own maildir
so I don't miss it, and I just have to skim the rest of the messages for
interesting info and toss the rest.
