What's nice about these things is the plug-it-in-and-go ease of use.
Unfortunately, it's not very flexible.  Often the DiVX to MPEG2
transcoding is done on the "server" PC, which almost always is Windows,
and is very processor intensive.  If you like the wireless approach to
networking, you can expect to never use this feature unless you like
lower-quality video.  A real OS gives you so many more options and you
can expand it until your wallet runs dry.
