Is that the "25" release? What does rpm -qa 'lirc*' give?

Note that you need to unload (rmmod) any lirc module after the
upgrade, otherwise you will be mixing lirc releases, wven though there
is only the newest installed.

On my setup there is some problem unloading lirc and ivtv modules
(rmmod hanging), so please consider rebooting after upgrading to
latest lirc rpms (the "25" release).

I have checked with a PVR 250, that the gray remote works.
