[mythtv-users] Mythtv-0.15 a little config help PLEEEz

I'm not out of the woods yet! NEWBIE NEEDS HELP! I will apologize in 
advance for all the output, just trying to get mythtv up in running...

I am running Mandrake 10 with 2.4.22-28mm kernel, AMD cpu, Hauppauge 
pvr-350 (in pci), ATI rage 128 video card (in agp) ivtv driver 0.1.9 
NTSC ...

after running "setup" and "mythfilldatabase" I'm starting the 
"mythbackend" and get the following output:
Couldn't read data from the capture card in 15 seconds"
the error on the "mythtvfrontend" reads: "ReadStringList timeout (quick) 
Unexpected response to MYTH_PROTO_VERSION:" All with Black screen... in 
fact I've seen any video output on my monitor, or tv...

any ideas what this means?
