I love the new feature in MythWeb where you can just click on the url link
to view/play the program online, however I am having problems getting these
files to stream into a windows XP system.

My home network (private 192.168...) is a 100Mbps hard wired lan and I was
anxious to try this feature out.
Unfortunately, I can't seem to get Internet Explorer (v6.0)/WMP to stream
the files, instead WMP is invoked and displays the 'connecting' status while
the entire file is downloaded and eventually played (after 2-3 minutes).

I am running the MythTv package on my linux server (RH9) running Apache Web
Server. I am attempting to stream the files to a windows XP PC on my desktop
(another room in the house). Windows Media Player ver 9 is installed and is
the default player. I have edited the mime.types file at my server to make
the .nuv extension a video/mpeg type. I have added the .nuv extension to the
windows file types as a mpeg file.

After all this... WMP still insists on downloading the file before starting
to play!
Also, if I bring up WMP manually and give it the http URL (ie.
http://myserver/mythweb/videos/1004_20040601200000_20040601210000.nuv) it
will do the same thing.

Now, if I bring up VLC (Videolan Client), and feed it the URL it will stream
and play immediately. However, if I change the windows mpeg file type/player
association to use VLC, the file is still downloaded and then VLC cannot
seem to handle the path passed into it.

Finally, I have the /var/lib/mythtv directory mounted on my windows system
(via samba server). If I drag the file over onto WMP icon, it will play
immediately.

Frustrating!!

I hope someone can point me in the right direction?

Thanks for any help... and thanks for the great package... I have been using
it for more than 8 months... love it!!
