[mythtv-users] totally confused about remotes.

FWIW the tricky to get bit is the actual IR transceiver.
And if you look carefully at the thing inside the cable you'll see 
it's.... an IR transciever - and it's packaged very prettily.

I built a plain receiver that fits *inside* the rs232 cable socket and 
has a 1.5mm jack that the standard Hauppage receiver plugs into.
The problem was figuring out the jack plug's pinout ... google found 
some sites that tell you that :)

Must do a piccy sometime...

PS I think it's the hauupage electronics that impose the rc-5 protocol - 
the transceiver is std.
