[mythtv-users] Building custom install script -- XMLTV

Folks,

I use a distro called SourceMage gnu/linux, which is a Gentoo-like system, 
save that it's all bash.

I need to know if MythTV uses or requires XMLTV to download its listings.

Also, these scriots download the sourcefiles using wget. Does anyone know what 
the direct links to the source files are, as opposed to the php links?
