[mythtv-users] Burn In on Televisions? How are people avoidingthis?

I don't know if this is typical, but my HP LCD monitor on
our combined Myth/Desktop in the kitchen only claims a lamp
life of 10,000 hours (13-14 months).  The lamp is 
supposedly replaceable, but I run a process that enables/
disables display power management so that TV is uninterrupted
but the screen blanks in 5 minutes otherwise (based upon myth cpu
usage because I was too lazy to come up with a patch for
myth).  The Power button on the remote wakes up the screen.
