Google for zap2myth which might be the quickest way of entering the 
channel information from the channels.conf file.

I have a DVB-T card so my channels.conf file is different but looking in 
the source for szap I'd say they were:
name:frequency:polarity:sat number:symbol rate:video pid:audio pid
