Speaking of... I dropped by the cable office the other day to pay my
bill and got a look at the DCT5100.  According to the tech in the
office, any DCT2000 boxes currently distributed, *AND* the DCT5100
boxes, will have the serial port enabled.  Veeerrryyyy interesting...
(now if we can just get QAM support on the pcHDTV card...)
