Hm... My DCT-5100 has no serial port (or a cutout for it) at all... 
There *is* a jack on the back (looks like a mini stereo headphone jack, 
but slightly larger, I think) labeled IRBlast though. And umpteen USB 
ports, FireWire, Ethernet, etc., etc., etc...
