Unlikely, that is disconnecting the cable outside the house caused the green 
vertical lines.  I believe it's a known bug in ivtv, cause many people have 
experienced it.  What is surprising is that different people report 
differently colored bars -- mine are redish to pinkish (though I can't 
remember when was the last time I had them).  I remember someone else 
reporting whitish patterns.  Might be that whatever color the picture is, 
that color will be the vertical lines as well.  Just a conjecture on my part, 
though.

I'd suggest you get and compile the newest, released only last night, 
ivtv-0.1.9 and try that.
