I'd love to do that, but I can't get my hands on the source.  You have to fill out forms with Via
for them to release the source to you.

Do you have it?

Hi,
If you're happy to be on the bleeding edge, which I assume you are trying 
FC1 :), you could always try to use a newer kernel with the open source 
drivers. 
via sound, lirc and mpeg all work from source.
