Yes, it's been that way for ages.  Never did track it down.  I solved it 
by using the controls to use different video modes for playback and GUI, 
and run the GUI at 960x540 (my set does 1080i as its native mdoe).

BTW, don't start an unrelated thread by replying; people whose mailers 
do reference-threading will likely not see it.  (You of all people 
should know better :-) )
