Uh... I see two potential problems:

(1) People continue to specify msp3400 to load.
(2) PCI hotplug support proactively loads msp3400.

I don't use PCI hotplug support, so the second one doesn't apply, but
the first could be a problem.  Is there another scenario I'm missing?

True 'nuff.  That's potentially the easier solution, as well.  Of
course, I'd love to see a stable ivtv driver end up in the kernel
along with a *fixed* msp3400, but that's months off for sure.
