[mythtv-users] Re: Separate modes for GUI and Video problem

Closed source v6106 on an Nvidia 5600SE. I've experimented and determined
that it's not the lowest resolution which X can switch to, it's the GUI
resolution. In other words, I can switch to one of three resolutions:

1920x1080
960x540
640x480.

X starts in 1920x1080 and as soon as mythfrontend starts it switches to
960x540 just as expected. When I view video it switches to 1920x1080 as I
had setup except that the XV viewable portion is only 960x540 and the rest
is the standard X background. If I configure mythfrontend to use 640x480 for
the GUI then when I watch video the viewable XV portion is only 640x480.
This doesn't sound like a video driver issue to me. I'll have to dig into
the code a bit..

I submitted something like this to Bugzilla. Isaac said it's a video card
driver issue, not a Myth issue. I'm using the Nvidia closed-source driver
w/ a GF4 MX420. What are you using?
