Mike,

thanks a lot for all the clarifications never ever found on any website about the ivtv driver behavior.

So, things were simplified, but the doc is lagging behind and contribute to make things complicates or even break the whole thing.

BTW, there is so many chunks of infos disseminated to the four corners of the web with an unknown status (maintained? unmaintained? who cares? etc) it is confusing and time-consuming to try to skim down this info and turn it into a working thing.

Is there something that can be done about it?
