Are you in PAL or NTSC land? If PAL, then you need to change some configs
because KnoppMyth is configured for NTSC land per default. You'll find lot
of info on the KnoppMyth forum and I think in the KnoppMyth wiki as well.
Surely there is also a lot of info on the mythtv mailing list... did you
search the archives?

Maybe you just need to change your recording profiles in MythTV from
height=480 (ntsc) to 576 (pal)?

But maybe it's just a matter of the ivtv driver? Did you set your tuner type
correctly? What ivtv driver version is installed?
