Have you checked that the frontend machine has write access (insert, alter, 
etc) to the mythconverg DB on the backend?

Log into MySQL on the backend as your DB admin and try something like:

grant all on mythconverg.* to [mythfrontendusername]@[mythfrontend 
hostname/IP address] identified by 'password'
