[mythtv-users] refresh rate issue with TV out on EPIA M

I have an EPIA M running RH9 and mthtv-0.11. I've installed the via display driver, edited XF86Config to use it (added the ModeLines to the Monitor section, specify via as the driver in the Device section, specify "720x480" mode in the Screen section) and have connected an S-Video cable to my 32" Sony triniton. When X is started by gdm, the TV flashes and then goes blank. If I telnet in I can see that X is running fine. The XFree.0.log looks great, no errors in it. I think the problem is that the refresh rate is too high for the TV. But I'm using the 720x480 mode which should be driving it at 60Hz (or 75Hz?). Any ideas what I've done wrong? What monitor setting should be used for TV out? I don't remember having to do anything special to get the via driver working on TV out when I was running RH8. It just worked.
