My suggestion (this is what I do) would be to adjust your color settings
for your monitor..  If you ever choose to archive any of your
recordings, this will most closely match the systems you will be viewing
your archived shows on (including if you archive to svcd and then watch
in a dvd player).  Then, on a per-machine basis, go into XF86config and
use your video driver's color adjustment settings to make the colors
look right on the tv/monitor your frontend is plugged into.  I've found
that the tv itself is more responsible for color differences than the
video card (ie. color looks fine on the computer if I use a monitor, but
looks different on my sony wega, and different in other ways on my
wife's old 19").
