Go into your recording settings (Setup->TV Settings->Recording I think, from
memory) and you can set a time that the recording will start earlier, & stop
later than your set recording.  For instance set it to 120 seconds, and a
recording 1pm - 2pm will really be 12:58pm - 2:02pm to give you some buffer
room.  That may help.
