The README is quite hidden.

The magic words are:

cd ivtv/driver
less ivtv-fb.c



(First part of ivtv-fb.c is not c at all, but a very readable README)

BTW, use the current snapshots by Jens Axboe (browse the ivtv-devel list
for details)
